Oriental fragrances are exotic and sensual – vastly different in style from florals, and usually loved for the evening. Originally inspired by the scents of the near and far east, Orientals are lush with rich resins, dashed with spice and twists of amber and vanilla. Today, oriental fragrances offer a different point of view, either cosy and comforting or vibrant and intoxicating – they invite us on distant travels and reveries.
The sweetness of tangerine is offset by the intoxicating purple richness of davana
Scherzo is one of a pair of fragrances, inspired by a passage of text in F. Scott Fitzgerald’s Tender is the Night. An intensely vibrant scent, full of colour and a rush of sweetness, Scherzo captures a multitude of blooms: dark red rose, and clouds of peony, sunny yellow narcissus and crisp white pittosporum. The sweetness of tangerine is offset by the intoxicating purple richness of davana, which adds a twist of liquor to the scent. A base of golden olibanum shimmers with oudh, earthy patchouli and a sprinkling of sugar to capture the feeling of a confectioner’s window.
A homage to the great tuberose flower; sensual, bold and glamorous.
A tribute to the mythical shoreline of ancient Alexandria.
